Volunteer Opportunities for Elementary School

We Need YOU to make a difference in the lives of our young Church members. If you are interested in helping out in any of the following areas, please contact the Religious Education Office at 757-421-7416 OR religiousedu@ssmrcc.org

CLOW – CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

CLOW is the opportunity for our young members (four year olds through 1st graders) to hear the Gospel on their level each week. CLOW is held during the Sunday Morning Masses (8:30 AM and 11:30AM) year round and provides the weekly gospel message on an age appropriate level. The sessions last approximately 20-30 minutes. Adults are needed to assist the CLOW Coordinator and help manage the room.

Commitment: One or two Sundays, per month depending on the number of leaders

ELEMENTARY BLAZE CATECHIST

Catechists are entrusted to teach the Catholic faith to the next generation. They provide for the spiritual formation of the young children by developing relationships with them, modeling a Christian life and teaching them the essentials of following Christ. A prepared curriculum is used; all materials and supplies are provided.

Commitment: One school year, two sessions per month

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

7th – 12th Grade and Adults are needed to help with activities such as Games, Crafts, KidVid, Kitchen and Crew Leaders for groups of participants. Interested in volunteering? Check out our VBS Site.
