Welcome to Adult Formation

__________________________________________________________________________________

Welcome! Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Are you a baptized Catholic adult who has not celebrated Eucharist and/or Confirmation? We invite you to join us for our parish (RCIA) Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults program. We are excited to have you come home!

In most parishes in the United States, the normal process by which an individual is received into the Catholic Faith is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA for short. The RCIA process is a return to the manner in which people in the early Church celebrated the Sacraments of Initiation, i.e. Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. During RCIA, you participate with others in a journey of faith which incorporates individual study, lectures, group prayer and opportunities for the wider Church community to acknowledge God’s call upon your life. Normally, most people are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil (the night before Easter Sunday); however, it is possible to be received into the Catholic Faith at other times.

If you have any questions regarding the RCIA Process or want to know more, please contact the RCIA Coordinator, Christina Kieser.

If you’d like to register for Adult Religious Education, please call the office at 757-421-7416.
